Strongest-Ever Attendance at a GlassBuild Show

“We are pleased with the activity generated at the show and the new projects that are emerging from this event,”
Carey Brayer Glass Vice President of Sales

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Sept. 25, 2019) – A crowd of more than 8,000 people attended GlassBuild America in Atlanta last week. Over the run of the show, Intermac welcomed nearly 40 percent more booth visitors than they did at GlassBuild 2018 in Las Vegas.

The result of record levels of interest in Intermac solutions demonstrated at the show is already delivering a business boost for both Intermac USA and Canada. “We are pleased with the activity generated at the show and the new projects that are emerging from this event,” said Vice President of Sales for Intermac America Carey Brayer. “The GlassBuild debut of our 3-axis Primus 184 Waterjet cutting machine was particularly well-received because of how well it cuts shapes in laminated glass and complex geometrical shapes in float glass -- not possible through traditional score/breakout process.” Brayer also said booth visitors were impressed with how Primus achieves better nesting of parts to increase yields from raw material sheets, eliminates tooling, offers quicker set-up times, and processes thin materials more quickly.

Intermac’s GlassBuild exhibit also marked the first showing of the company’s newest model Master One CNC work center, demonstrated the advantages of the Genius 37 CT-Red cutting table for float glass, and focused on Movetro automatic storage and handling solutions.

GlassBuild was another confirmation of the fact that 2020 will be the year for automated solutions. Movetro’s solutions aim to guide companies in reducing floor space by segregating all glass nearest to the cutting lines, eliminate time and labor needed to load the cutting line, reduce manual handling perils such as breakage, chipping and scratching, and avoid the need to stock pre-cut sizes. A true look at Industry 4.0!

Visitors at the Georgia World Congress Center also learned about how SOPHIA, Intermac’s revolutionary IoT app and cloud-based software management tool, optimizes the performance and productivity of machines, anticipates needs, and avoids downtime. Integration with the Parts Portal gives customers the power to purchase parts, check availability and track purchases online 24/7.

The next GlassBuild America show will be held September 15-17, 2020 in the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, NV.
