Somers, his wife Danielle, an engineer, were attending StonExpo Show in Las Vegas this past January and visited the Intermac booth. Totally impressed, they signed a pre-commitment to buy a Donatoni Jet 625 CNC bridge saw on the spot.

“After we talked in the conference room on Biesse’s Charlotte campus,” Somers remembered, “my wife said, ‘Go get our checkbook.’ From her engineer’s perspective, there was nothing left to talk about and no reason to look anywhere else.”

Somers was investing in a new 6,000-square-foot facility and while making plans to welcome his new Donatoni Jet bridge saw, he soon agreed with Eric Duster, Intermac Stone Area Manager, about the advantages to pairing his new bridge saw with a CNC work center. The Intermac team jumped through hoops to get his Master CNC delivered in 30-45 days. “The level of knowledge of our Area Manager and the level of service and technical expertise offered to us by everyone at Intermac was extraordinary,” Somers said. “We’re very happy that we decided to make this a long-term relationship. Our entire workplace is better, cleaner and much more productive.” Moving from his existing manual shop production to an automated process will not only be easier for him to manage, but will also be more cost efficient in relation to his investment. After 17 years in business, Somers intends to close International Stone Gallery’s manual shop soon and further automate their brand-new facility in the months and years to come.
