Intermac at Vitrum 2019: The future of industry is already here

Intermac exhibits the future of Industry 4.0 at Vitrum: innovative, revolutionary technologies that enable tomorrow's factory to be conceived today.

Vitrum is the international trade fair dedicated to machinery, equipment and systems for processing glass, and is scheduled to take place at Fiera Milano Rho from 1 to 4 October 2019; here, guided by the Automaction concept, Intermac will set out to affirm and further strengthen the relationship between humans and robots. Visitors will be able to observe automated process solutions close at hand, along with robot cells that can offer various levels of customisation, modularity and flexibility within the system.

Intermac constantly redesigns the future of production and at the Vitrum trade fair, the company will show how benefits can be obtained from the integration of technology with ROS (Robotically Operated Systems). These ROS, which stand out for their reduced dimensions, can be inserted into the production flow with extreme flexibility, optimising machining cycles and combining versatility with efficiency and high return on investment. The ROS will be at the service of the Master One 3-axis machining centre dedicated to glass processing - a solution which is capable of performing the full range of machining operations without compromising on performance, and which can be easily integrated into the production flow, where all the intrinsic characteristics of ROS are enhanced.

The Comby Plus R-A37 version of the Genius CT-Plus will be in action on the stand; with innovative Intermac-patented vertical buffer technology, this machine represents the ideal solution for customers who want to achieve maximum productivity with minimal working dimensions, reduced processing times and high cutting precision. The cutting line is completed by the Movetro handling and storage systems: thanks to the Swift shuttle with 4 regular positions, this is the perfect piece of technology for storing and handling sheets of glass in a very small space.

Among the innovations launched on the market in 2019, the Aqua range of products is of particular note; it consists of a series of vertical washing machines that can be fully integrated with Intermac vertical machining centres, allowing the processed glass to be washed and dried to the very highest standards. Integrating the Aqua washing machines enables the glass sheets to be perfectly prepared for the next machining operation, or for leaving the processing cycle.

In addition, Vitrum will see the launch of the revolutionary innovative technology for quick tooling of the Busetti Serie F double-edging grinding range of products: the latter will be equipped with a new tool change system on the Intermac-patented corner-rounding unit. Courtesy of this solution, tool replacement times are reduced to under 2 minutes.

The Digital Hub

The stand will rotate around the Digital Hub—a link between the software packages—where visitors can examine the true heart of the applications installed on Intermac technology. The hub of the digital connections of the platforms will be on show in the dedicated area, with specialised technical personnel on hand: within the Digital Hub, all the functions of the software installed on the Intermac technologies will be on display, including SOPHIA, the IoT service platform that provides real time information and data through intuitive dashboards with the aim of improving personalised interaction with the customer on the basis of the machine and reducing assistance times even further.

Diamut, tooling division

The 2019 edition of Vitrum will also see the participation of Diamut in an all-new exhibition space (Hall 5 - Stand L09 M10); the company's presence at this major international event will be marked by a number of significant innovations in the world of cup grinding solutions. Diamut will be the star at the Intermac stand too, with an internal Demo Area revealing the machining results obtained with tools guided by the refined technology of the machines of Biesse's glass division. Intermac's expert technical and commercial staff on the stand will be on hand to assist visitors, providing concrete answers and detailed information on all of the cutting-edge solutions in the range, as well as delivering insights into the collaborative robotics and handling and storage systems that enable custom turnkey factories to be created.
